The exported files contain the information currently shown in the preview. No invoice fields are uploaded to generateinvoice.app, and you do not need a site account. A Google account is only needed if you choose to store or edit the downloaded file in Google Drive.
How to use the invoice in Google Docs
Complete the invoice in the editor and choose “Download for Google Docs.” In Google Drive, select New, File upload and choose the downloaded DOCX file. Open it with Google Docs to edit text, adjust spacing or collaborate with a client or teammate.
The Word export preserves the invoice structure, parties, dates, line items, totals, notes and terms. Keep an untouched copy as your reusable master before editing individual invoices in Drive.
How to use the invoice in Google Sheets
Choose “Download for Google Sheets” when you want quantities, rates and totals in a spreadsheet. Upload the XLSX file to Drive and open it with Google Sheets. The line totals, subtotal, discount, tax, shipping, total and balance use formulas, so changing a quantity or rate recalculates the document.

Google Docs or Google Sheets?
Use Google Docs when presentation and free-form text matter most. Use Google Sheets when the invoice has many line items, changing quantities or calculations that teammates should inspect. Both versions begin with the same browser invoice, so you can download both without re-entering your information.

No. The invoice is created locally first. You decide whether to upload the exported file to a private Drive, a shared folder or nowhere at all.
Can I download a PDF too?
