The template covers the fields every receipt needs: sequential receipt number, date, who paid, an itemized list of what was sold, tax if any, and the amount received. Use “Amount paid” to zero the balance and stamp the receipt PAID.
How to fill out this receipt template
Start with your business block — name, email, address, logo. Then the payer under “Received from”. Give the receipt a number that continues your existing sequence, set the date to the day payment was received, and itemize what was sold: one line per item or service, with quantity and unit price.
If the sale included sales tax or VAT, set the rate so the tax shows as its own line — customers and bookkeepers both want to see the pre-tax subtotal. Finish by recording the payment method in the terms (“Paid via bank transfer, ref #…”) and entering the amount in “Amount paid”.

The PDF prints on A4 with no browser clutter — just the receipt. Your business details, logo and numbering persist in your browser between visits, so the second receipt takes seconds: open the page, change the payer and items, download.

Frequently asked questions
Can I print this receipt instead of saving a PDF?
Yes — “Download PDF” opens your browser’s print dialog, where you can send it straight to a printer or save as PDF. The layout is A4 either way.
Does the template work for cash payments?
Yes. Note “Paid in cash” in the terms and keep a copy for your own records — for cash sales the receipt is usually the only documentation either side has.
Can I remove the tax line?
Leave the tax rate at 0 and no tax line appears on the document. Set any rate and the receipt shows tax as its own row with the subtotal above it.
Is my data stored anywhere?
Only in your own browser (localStorage), which is how your details persist between visits. Nothing is uploaded — clearing your browser data removes it completely.
